Being aware is your main focus this month as you embark on your Warrior journey. Being aware simply means paying attention to yourself and this month, we are turning our focus inward to find the strength we need as this month will be the most challenging. Don’t be scared! You have this! If you’re excited, that’s a good sign that you’re on the right track!
First Things First!
Having an open mind in this process is very important. Remember, your answers are within, your issues are also within. Take what you need and leave what doesn’t make sense or apply. Feel free to revisit all information as the program is designed to teach.
Your body is an amazing machine designed for your success! Just as with anything, if left unmanaged it will be out of control. You are the manager!
Listening To Your Body
A good manager is a good listener! It’s important to listen to your body. Your body tells you when it’s full, tired, dehydrated, ill etc. Being aware of your body’s communication is very important. If your body has not been managed this communication may not be conducive to healthy lifestyle. For instance, if you consistently over eat, your body will be trained to consume more food. If you eat a lot of sweets and sugars, your body with crave sweets because that’s what you’ve trained it to do, and training is all about habits. The good news is that you can train you body to crave healthier options with good habits.
Eat To Live, Don't Live To Eat
With reduced caloric/food intake you will train your stomach to eat less over time and to crave nutrients instead of food that lack nutrients. You will notice you get fuller faster from eating more nutrient rich foods. When this happens, listen to your body and stop eating when you are satisfied. When cutting your processed sugar intake, you will get hard cravings for sugar but stay strong, as it will go away, and your body will not crave it anymore. Once your body sensitizes again to sweets, you will find that fruits taste much more amazing and are that much more appetizing. When this happens, listen to your body and avoid sugar as this is a cycle that you can get caught in. Once you master your self control and self-discipline, you can control yourself to eat dessert as a treat and not as a requirement.
Pay Attention To Your Emotions
Paying attention to your emotions is also key in managing your body. Have you ever noticed that you eat either more or less when you’re stressed out? Do you gravitate towards certain foods? Pay attention and be mindful of this. Pay attention to how your body reacts when stressed and write this down in your Warrior journal.
If you find that you are an emotional eater, replace sugary treats with fruit, (do not add sugar). Try doing something you enjoy instead, like watching a show, taken a walk outside and playing games. Do something positive to replace the habit of emotional eating. If you tend not to eat, remember your body is yours to respect and care for. Apart of that care is making sure it has what it needs to keep you going healthy and strong.
Water!
It’s sounds simple but drinking water is one of the best things you can do for your body. If you do not like the taste of water, it’s okay. You can train you body to like the taste of water again. Water is essential to life, so not liking water is a good sign that you need to get your body back on track. You can make your water more fun by adding fruits.
You have a water challenge this month, use this to push yourself to keep your body hydrated. Make notes of any changes you feel in your journal. Glowing skin is a side effect
