A lot of people including myself at one point believe that the only way to accomplish my goal was to be mean to myself and talk down to myself. Through my journey of self-love and self-discovering I found this to not be true. You can love and respect yourself and be positive to yourself and still have drive and accomplish your goals. Matter-of-fact accomplishing goals with self-love and positive self-talk is much more rewarding and for filling than negative self-talk will ever be.
Let’s take a look at one of the questions above.
Do you feel like you love body just the way you are right now?
Most people’s answer to this question is no. “I do not like this about my body, I hate this about my body. How can I love myself?”
Through self-love and acceptance, you can love your body and work towards improving it by living a healthier lifestyle. When you love something you treasure it, you take care of it, you want only the best for it. The same for your body. I Encourage you to look at your body differently. Love your body! Treasure your body! Be kind to your body! Treat your body like you treat your most prize possession because it is.
Negative self-talk is a difficult thing to overcome but it’s not impossible. Surround yourself with positive messages. Use sticky notes on your mirror, in your car, on your phone, set reminders. Be aware of when your negative self-talk is happening and make a choice to treat your body like your most prize possession.
Below is an example of negative self-talk vs positive self-talk
“I hate my stomach! It’s so fat! When I lose this stomach then l’ll be happy. “
“I love my body! And because I love my body, I’m going to make better choices and eat healthier and exercise. I’m worth and I value myself. “
Love yourself, value yourself! If you don’t love you, how can you accept someone to love you and respect you. Start within!
Remember! Only you can make this change.
